Using the Raspberry Pi and games to teach programming

By: Martin Flanagan

About

Abstract

Programming in Computer Science can be challenging for students to learn. Students need to learn both a programming language and general programming constructs. This project aims to find out whether integrating 2D games and general programming constructs into an asignment would be better than a standard programming assignment. The system produced was a game assignment which can be run on both the Raspberry Pi with the Sense HAT add-on board and on a desktop computer. This was evaluated by staff from the University of Cape Town.
