About

Abstract

TrustLink is a blockchain-enabled digital credential management system designed to modernise how academic credentials are issued, managed, shared and verified. Traditional academic credential processes often rely on manual administration, physical documents and time-consuming verification procedures, creating inefficiencies for educational institutions, students and third-party organisations.

Developed in collaboration with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), TrustLink provides a secure digital platform that connects three key stakeholders: academic institutions (Issuers), students and graduates (Holders), and organisations verifying academic qualifications (Verifiers).

The system enables institutions to issue digital Proof of Enrolment documents, Degree Certificates and Academic Transcripts. Students can access and manage their credentials through a digital wallet and securely share them with third parties. Verifiers can then confirm the authenticity and validity of these credentials through a streamlined verification process.

By integrating blockchain technology, verifiable credentials and institutional student information systems, TrustLink aims to improve trust, reduce administrative effort and simplify academic credential verification. The project demonstrates how emerging technologies can support more efficient, transparent and reliable academic credential management within higher education.
