Students with ADHD face ongoing challenges with focus, organisation, and time management. Existing productivity tools are often visually cluttered, inconsistent, and overwhelming, resulting in anxiety and loss of motivation. The business requirement identified was the need for an accessible, structured, and motivating digital platform that supports ADHD students in developing positive daily habits and maintaining focus in both academic and personal contexts.
KORA was developed as a personal productivity and habit-tracking web application tailored to the needs of neurodiverse users. The system encourages users to build sustainable routines, track progress, and receive positive reinforcement in a calm, intuitive interface.
The application was built using a three-tier architecture comprising an Angular frontend, a .NET backend, and a SQL Server database, all hosted on a Virtual Machine using Docker containers for flexibility.
KORA’s major features include a Routine Planner for task creation and scheduling and a Focus Mode that offers a distraction-free environment with a focused task list. Another feature is the Mental Reset feature where users can engage in a grounding exercise to set the tone for the day by receiving postive affirmations.
Through this project, the team demonstrated that combining inclusive design principles with modern web technologies can create a tool that not only enhances productivity but also supports digital accessibility and empowerment for students with ADHD.
