Abstract
The ByteSized project addresses a fragmented, manager-reliant onboarding by creating a centralised, AI-forward platform that streamlines employee integration and knowledge access.
At its core is Digit, an AI-powered chatbot, that uses a hybrid framework of agentic functionality and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to provide personalised learning, real-time query handling, and dynamic resource retrieval. Integrated with Jira, Confluence, and Google Calendar, the system reduces information silos while supporting role-specific onboarding and continuous knowledge sharing.
ByteSized is built with a React frontend, a Django backend and integrates Google Firestore for scalable storage, ChromaDB for semantic search, and Cloudflare for document storage. External integrations, including Google Calendar, Jira and Confluence, reduce information silos and are aimed at improving productivity. The platform adds gamification, progress tracking, and a customisable interface, ensuring adaptability across departments.
