About

Abstract

Bee Grateful is a mobile-first application designed to assist with hive management for beekeepers across Africa. Developed in partnership with LithaFlora African Botanicals, this solution addresses critical challenges in the beekeeping industry, particularly the lack of structured record-keeping that leads to data loss, inefficient hive monitoring, and unfair blame during pollination services.

The application enables beekeepers to record hive health data through voice input in multiple African languages (powered by Lelapa AI) or manual entry, eliminating reliance on physical notebooks prone to loss or damage. Key features include:

  • Voice-to-text transcription with AI-powered data extraction
  • Real-time hive health dashboards with filterable analytics
  • Automated PDF report generation for transparency with farmers
  • Issue tracking and AI-driven resolution suggestions
  • Collaborative world management for primary and secondary beekeepers
  • Emergency contact integration for rapid response

Designed with African beekeepers in mind, the application addresses real-world challenges faced during pollination services whilst empowering beekeepers to build trust and transparency with farming partners.
