This project investigates the current existing tutor recruitment system which is a manual system at the University of Cape Town, School of Information Technology department to building a new automated Tutor application system that will integrate the systems and tools involved, minimize administrative work all in all ensuring efficiency and ease to the users of the system.
The Tutor application system allows for all processes required to be completed in one system.
As the development of an integrated system is cost-effective and is a long term investment. The adoption of this integrated system is the most efficient way to go about the application process for the tutoring application. This also means that the institution will not be expected to develop or purchase multiple licenses/systems that do not have integration capabilities in the future.
The new system is be able to include all the processes of tutor recruitment in a single system. This new system able be able to:
· Register users as staff and students.
· Allow applicants to fill in forms.
· Process the information collected in these forms and display them in relevant views.
· Link accounts to their respective PeopleSoft accounts and derives data securely.
· Allow course convenors to select tutors from candidates and notify candidates of their accepted/rejected status.
· Update status of student (accepted or rejected)
· Log, track and store the hours of the tutors.
